Justin is from Lower Onslow, Nova Scotia where he grew up spending almost all his time outdoors exploring the woods near his parents’ house.
After high school, Justin immediately enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces where he spent five years serving in the infantry. After leaving the military in 2012, he enrolled at Nova Scotia Community College where he completed a diploma in Business Administration. While at school, Justin developed a passion and interest for the environmental field and participated in the NSCC Green Committee. Following the completion of his diploma, he worked in the non-environmental field, serving as the Assistant Manager/Estimator at Upham’s CarStar New Glasgow and the Manager at Upham’s CarStar Amherst.
Justin has spent time researching the Forestry sector and developing an interest in the field. He was thankful for the opportunity to become a Forestry Stewardship Officer to further foster his interest and start a new career in the environmental field.
When not working, you will often find him hiking, exploring the N.S. coastline and camping alongside with his girlfriend. Justin also enjoys woodworking, completing DIY projects and spending time with his dog and two cats.
Justin’s project is going to focus on recovery of the Mainland Moose in Nova Scotia and further developing the Moose Guardians program in Nova Scotia.
