Allie has been working with The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq (CMM) since 2018 and is originally from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. As a child, she spent her time exploring the forest with her family learning about nature; this experience at a young age spurred her love for the outdoors. In her spare time, Allie can be found hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching, traveling, exploring, and volunteering.
Allie graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science Co-op, major in Biology, minor in Ocean Sciences and certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment and has experience in the agri-environmental, environmental, construction, and aquatics sectors.
As CMM’s Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCA) Project Coordinator, under the Mi’kmawey Forestry Program, Allie assists Mi’kmaw communities in the planning, development, establishment and management of IPCAs.
